Fireworks Craft

On the fourth of July, New Years and many other holidays, we celebrate with fireworks.  This craft activity is perfect to do on any holiday or special occasion where fireworks are part of the festivities.  You can also the colors of the fireworks to suite the specific holiday.

We made out firework craft for the fourth of July and used red, white and blue for our colors.

For this craft, you will need paint, toilet paper rolls, scissors, paper plate (or tray for paint), and paper.

First, an adult needs to cut one inch snips around the bottom of a toilet paper roll and then bend each section outword.  You will need to do this for each different color paint.  We used 3 different colors, so I cut 3 different rolls.

Next, you press the toilet paper roll into the paint as shown in the picture.

Then, the child can press the toilet paper roll on their paper.  The toilet paper roll acts like a stamp for printing the firework pattern.

Repeat the above steps for each color until the child is finished stamping.

We used this as a Fourth of July craft, but it makes a great New Years Craft, President's Day Craft, Memorial Day Craft or for any holiday where fireworks are used. This makes an easy toddler craft as well as an easy craft idea for preschoolers and older kids as well. My 2, 4, 6 and 9 year old all participated and enjoyed this craft.
